Lee Gardens Volunteers: Let's Get Together!

Welcome

Lee Gardens Pool is located in the centre of the village of Penrhiwceiber. Lee Gardens Volunteers is an enthusiastic group of local people who give up endless amounts of time to support the community. We work together to maintain the outdoor pool, which was built with money from our hard working miners. The pool was opened in 1957. Although Penrhiwceiber is no longer a mining village our mining heritage is very important to us.

Lee Gardens Pool was closed in 2013 owing to austerity cuts. In 2016 Lee Gardens Volunteers, with help from many community partners, re-opened this outdoor swimming pool for the benefit of Penrhiwceiber and surrounding villages and towns. Maximum age of swimmers is 11 years.

Running the pool is just one of the projects carried out by volunteers. Please browse the website to see other activities. Owing to time constraints the website may not have all the up-to-date information so please visit us on social media.

Please contact us if you'd like to be part of this dynamic group! You can be a casual volunteer or come every week; it's up to you.
